In post-migrant and gender divers society, cultural and gender sensitive attitude is essential for a qualified health care for children, adolescents and their families. Especially in mental health care we consider this approach as crucial for diagnostics and therapy. In the last years we mainly focused on:

1. Specialized mental health care for vulnerable patient groups:
a. Psychotraumatology and transcultural psychiatry (interdisciplinary team of psycholo-gists, doctors and nurses on wards and outpatient service, supervision, cooperation with other mental health experts working with refugees and with regional asylum or-ganizations)
b. Gender Identity Clinic (diagnostics, counseling, cooperation with University Children’s Hospital Zurich and Transgender Networks Switzerland)
c. Specialist department for children and adolescents with autism and/or with intellectual impairment (diagnostics, counseling, psychotherapy, cooperation with specialized schools and homes)
2. Teaching: Psychotraumatology, transcultural psychiatry, gender diversity, autism and intellec-tual disability are implemented topics in curriculum of trainees as postgradual psychologists and medical doctors.
3. Communication: providing free language and culture transmitters, improve availability of translated psychological tests and manuals, avoiding sex- and gender-based discrimination in language

The Department of Child and Adolescents Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (KJPP) of the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich (PUK) is a member of the network «Swiss Hospitals for Equity» and guided by its guidelines and recommendations.
